Shawn Loves Berti!

Berti arrived on Christmas night and Shawn has been loving him ever since. He is also loving all of his new toys. He especially loves his easel. We are going to set up his train tonight, and that will probably end up being his favorite. I got off work early on Wednesday night and we all headed up to the Spectrum, so Berti could buy some new clothes and shoes. After shopping we went for some mexican food at Javier's we had a great time. Always drawing

He can't get enough of his new toys

Merry Christmas

What a crazy way to start Christmas. Shawn woke up at 2 am because the wind was blowing so bad. He was up in bed watching tv until 5 am when he finally went back to sleep. I got up at 7 only to find our ENTIRE house covered in ash. The window in the loft was open and all the ash that had settled from the fires kicked back up. If was awful. Our carpets, baseboards, furniture and even the santa toys were completely covered in black ash. It was a nightmare, especially after all the cleaning we had done yesterday. So I jumped up and told Zach to keep the baby in bed with him while I vacuumed. Then we let Shawn out he was thrilled of course!

Pretty stoked about his doctor set
He never realized there would be toys in his stocking
Look at all this stuff Dad

Merry Christmas Eve

Well it's really Christmas now, since its 12:21 am. I just finished wrapping all the gift for tomorrow. Why last minute? Because I hate to wrap and I wait till the last minute every year. Anyways we started off the day very early. Shawn has been waking up around 530am the past few days, lucky for us he will lay in bed watching the disney channel till about 7 or so. We went out to breakfast this morning then Zach drove me around on all my last minute errands. I was able to finish pretty fast because he stayed in the car with Shawn. We got home and spent the whole day cleaning the loft for Berti. We met my mom and brothers at church and then went to El toritos. Shawn slept through the first half of mass thank god and when he woke up he was very excited to see his grandma and uncles. Shawn doesn't goto church often but he was pretty well behaved for a almost 2 and a half year old. Shawn and my mom chowing down
Bully protecting Shawn's presents. I guess I could've used a couple of different kinds of paper. But whatever I hate to wrap and I'm glad I don't have to do it again for another year.

Irvine Rail Road

On Sunday night I took Shawn to the Irvine Regional Park to ride the Christmas Train. We waited in line for almost 2 hours, but it was totally worth it. Shawn loved taking the train over to Santa's village, however the santa line was pretty long and it was approaching 9 pm so we just waved to Santa and jumped back on the train. The whole park was decorated with lights, it was beautiful. Binky snowman
Too Cute!

Shawn enjoyed all the lights

All Aboard!

My Mom's Tree

Dan, Bobby and I are always so proud of my mom's tree. Simply because its absolutely beautiful. My mom puts a lot of effort into making her tree perfect. This picture doesn't do it much justice considering the lights are not on. I will try to get a better picture before xmas.

We Believe

We went and saw Santa on Friday. Shawn was not scared at all. He thought Santa was pretty cool. He thought the candy cane Santa gave him was even better. I can't believe that these two pictures below were my baby this time of year just two years ago. Time flies

Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Our Charile Brown Christmas Tree has returned. When we move into a bigger place we will get a bigger tree. For now this will do. I assembled the tree while Zach gave Shawn a bath. This first picture pretty much sums up his reaction to having the tree up.

We are using the same technique as last year. Glass ornaments on the top, soft ornaments in the middle and the bottom empty. Shawn still thinks the glass ones are balls. So basically all he is saying tonight is "o wow, a ball, a choo choo, a bird, a ball, cool, wow" etc. We will probably get him a few new ornaments this year but for tonight I am done.

Preparing For The Future

Shawn spent the majority of the weekend at his Grandma's house. Today I picked him up around 1pm. We went on a little adventure to Target to buy him some sweats. I hate sweats on kids it just reminds me of Kmart but its so freaking cold I buckled and let my mom buy him some. When we got home this afternoon and started pulling out our Christmas Ornaments Shawn came across something we will just call from Daddy's bachelor days. A "Beer Hat" Shawn thought it was so cool. And Zach was so happy to see it. He said he thought I threw it away along time ago. Here are some pictures from this afternoon.
Fill me up Mom
Bully looking like he has had enough beer.
After watching him so excited to have the beer hat he quickly pulled out a book. Gives me some hope that is entire future won't be spent wearing that ridiculous hat.
